Despite arriving from South Carolina in the middle of an extreme (cold) weather advisory in upstate New York, sweet Andi is a laid-back lady. She is easy going and would love nothing more than a relaxed home to call her own. Though she’s been through a lot in her 9 young years - being hit by a car and (very troubling) shot - she is such a love to people and has a slightly comic side (‘hurumpfing’ when asked to get up from naps). She even patiently tolerates her more rambunctious furry foster sisters, who show her the respect she’s earned.
Andi is housetrained, crate-trained, and walks nicely on leash - though she also likes to take her morning and evening strolls around the house and yard. As Andi’s had a hard life till this point she would appreciate a forever family that lets her go at her own pace and enjoy her newfound peace (and naps, she loves naps!).
Andi would do best in a home with adults and older children, and would prefer being an only dog or having respectful/mild mannered doggie siblings (perhaps a little more mild than her current crew). She would also appreciate a home with rugs and fewer stairs (help with those stairs, or the ability to stay on one floor). Andi doesn’t ask for much other than that - maybe a few pets here and there and a couple treats, but who wouldn’t - and is very sweet to her people in return.
